Prof. Henning Eichinger is a Professor of Design Studies & Artistic Conception at Reutlingen University's TEXOVERSUM School of Textiles. He serves as Programme Director for the Master's in Artistic Conception and chairs the Design Examination Board. His work bridges art, science, and technology, focusing on societal and emotional dimensions of technological advancements. He holds positions as Cultural Representative of Reutlingen University and Scholarship Counsellor for the Faculty of Textiles & Design.
Education: Studied Visual Communication (1980-85) at Dortmund University of Applied Sciences.
Research interests include interdisciplinary artistic responses to societal trends, with notable projects like 'Skypelab' (transcontinental art collaboration) and 'Eagle-eye on Identities' (digital identity exploration). His work is exhibited globally, featured in major collections, and recognized through awards like the Baden-Württemberg Lecture Prize and multiple iAIR residencies.
Leadership roles include membership in the Baden-Württemberg Rectors' Conference's Design & Media group, Kunstverein Reutlingen board, and Heinrich-Hartmann Foundation leadership. He also lectures for the Friedrich-Ebert Foundation.
