Dr. Henin Zhang is a Senior Lecturer in the School of Engineering at RMIT University. Their research focuses on Origami Enabled Functionally Graded Materials and Structures, Fluid-Structure Interaction, Structural Impact Protection, and System Dynamics. Teaching interests include Automatic Control, Mechanical Vibration, Solid Mechanics, and Engineering Dynamics. They are open to supervising Masters and PhD students in projects such as Opto-electro-thermo-mechanical responses of perovskite-based photoelectric devices and Multiscale modeling of high-performance mechanical metamaterial composite structures.
Dr. Zhang's research interests span advanced materials engineering and mechanical systems. They explore the application of origami principles to create functionally graded materials, analyze fluid-structure interactions in dynamic environments, and develop protective structural designs. Their work in system dynamics integrates theoretical and applied aspects of mechanical engineering, contributing to innovations in material science and engineering solutions.
Dr. Zhang is actively involved in supervising research projects, including topics like Opto-electro-thermo-mechanical responses of perovskite-based photoelectric devices and Multiscale modeling of high-performance mechanical metamaterial composite structures. They welcome applications from students interested in these areas. Details of current and past grants are not specified here.
