Dr. Hend Eltanamly is an Assistant Professor in Developmental Psychology at Utrecht University's Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. Her research focuses on the impact of extreme adversity (e.g., war and refuge) on parental cognitions, parent-child interactions, and child development. She employs mixed-methods approaches including longitudinal studies, meta-analyses, and qualitative research. Key projects include investigating refugee identity development and narrative resilience. She is affiliated with the Dynamics of Youth (DoY) research group and teaches courses in developmental psychology. Her work is funded by grants such as the Anders Starter's Grant and the AIO Workload Fund.
Dr. Eltanamly's projects explore topics like parental self-efficacy among refugees, the longitudinal effects of war exposure on adolescents, and interventions to strengthen parental resilience.
