Hemchandra Shertukde is a Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Hartford's College of Engineering, Technology, and Architecture, and a Senior Lecturer at Yale University. With a PhD from the University of Connecticut and a BTech from IIT Kharagpur, his career spans academia, corporate leadership (CEO of MedScanSonics), and industry innovation (EHV transformers at Crompton Greaves).
Research Interests: Shertukde specializes in signal processing, power systems, and multisensor data fusion. His work includes fault diagnostics in transformers, smart grid applications, electric vehicle technology (GREEN 707 project), and medical devices (CADSCAN patent #7,291,111).
Publications Focus: His 7 journal articles (1988-1993) center on precision target tracking using imaging/passive sensors, with applications in defense and aerospace. Later work shifted to power systems and renewable energy.
