Helmut Niegemann

Prof. Dr. Helmut Niegemann is a Senior Professor of Business Education at the Goethe University Frankfurt, holding the title of Goethe Teaching Professor. He has held academic positions across multiple institutions, including visiting professorships at TU Darmstadt and Heidelberg University. His career spans roles as a researcher, educator, and administrator, with a focus on educational technology, media psychology, and instructional design. He completed his habilitation in 1993 at Saarland University and led the Didactic Design Department at the German Institute for Distance Learning Research (DIFF) from 1997 to 2000. Since 2014, he has been a permanent expert in the Hessian State Parliament's Enquete Commission on Education.

His professional journey includes teaching at vocational colleges, research assistantships in educational science, and project management in media publishing. He established an accredited online program in Instructional Design and Educational Technology at the University of Erfurt and organized major conferences in Media Psychology and Educational Psychology. Active in university governance, he has served on committees such as the Academic Senate and steering groups for educational initiatives.
