Helga Königshofer

Helga Königshofer is a researcher at the Department für Agrarwissenschaften, University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna (BOKU), specifically affiliated with the Institut für Botanik. She has been actively involved in plant stress physiology research since the 1990s.

Her research focuses on plant responses to abiotic stress, particularly investigating hydrogen peroxide signaling, proline metabolism, invertase function, and polyamine regulation in wheat under osmotic and heat stress. She has led multiple research projects examining cellular stress mechanisms and molecular responses.

Königshofer received the Prof. Anton Kurir Foundation award (1991) for supporting young scientists. She has supervised 6 university theses spanning from 2002 to 2018, covering topics like wheat stress adaptation, grapevine physiology, and snowfinch diet analysis.

Helga Königshofer has presented 7 scientific lectures internationally across Spain, Czech Republic, Ireland, Denmark, and Austria. She maintains memberships in several scientific societies including the Österreichischer Naturschutzbund and Federation European Societies of Plant Biology (FESPB).
