Helena Pinto

Dr. Helena Pinto is a Reader in Finance at the University of York, affiliated with the School for Business and Society and the Accounting and Finance department. She joined the university in 2019 and previously held academic roles at the University of Manchester, Strathclyde, and Bradford, where she also served as Programme Leader and Director of Undergraduate Studies. A Fellow of the British Higher Education Academy, she specializes in executive compensation, corporate governance, and adaptive learning tools in education.

Her research spans corporate finance, international finance, and stochastic modeling applications in energy systems. Notable publications include studies on executive incentives, foreign exchange hedging, and wind energy valuation. Dr. Pinto teaches undergraduate and postgraduate courses in Finance Fundamentals, Capital Markets, and Financial Markets and Investment.
