Dr. Wild's research focuses on critical intersections between patient experience, moral psychology, and kidney care. Her work examines moral distress and moral injury among healthcare and social care workers through systematic reviews of qualitative studies. She has developed patient-centered tools including a self-management behavior scale for hemodialysis patients and patient-reported experience measures for nephrology care. Her research addresses social isolation in young adults on hemodialysis and comprehensive geriatric assessment for older people with chronic kidney disease.
Her recent publications demonstrate a clear trajectory toward integrating patient experience with clinical care quality assessment, particularly in nephrology. The research combines systematic review methodology with practical scale development for patient self-management. Wild's work consistently bridges qualitative insights with quantitative measurement to improve healthcare delivery for vulnerable populations including kidney disease patients, older adults, and healthcare workers experiencing moral injury.
Research Leadership:
- Principal Investigator for projects on social isolation in young adults requiring hemodialysis
- Co-Investigator on multiple kidney disease and geriatric assessment studies
- Researcher on systematic reviews examining moral injury in healthcare settings
Dr. Wild leads and contributes to significant research initiatives funded by organizations including Kidney Research UK. Her collaborative approach is evident across multiple institutions and healthcare settings, with particular emphasis on translating research findings into practical patient care improvements. Her work with the Centre for Health Services and Clinical Research demonstrates strong connections between academic research and clinical practice implementation.
