Helen Leggett is an Associate Professor in the Foundation Year Programme at the University of East Anglia's School of Biological Sciences. She holds key administrative roles including BIO Engagement Officer, Module Organiser for BIO-3001B, and member of the BIO Equality, Diversity & Inclusivity Committee. Her academic work focuses on innovative teaching strategies in higher education, particularly in science disciplines.
Research interests include interdisciplinary approaches to student belonging, active learning methodologies, and leveraging low-stakes failure to build resilience. Her publications emphasize pedagogical frameworks that combine performing arts with scientific education and create safe spaces for experimental learning.
Helen has received two notable awards: the 2023 Outstanding Support in Higher Education Prize and the 2024 Team Award for European First Year Experience (EFYE).
