Helen Huang is the Jackson Family Distinguished Professor at North Carolina State University and Director of the Closed-Loop Engineering for Advanced Rehabilitation (CLEAR) Core. She holds a Ph.D. from Arizona State University and specializes in human-machine symbiotic systems, including robotic prosthetics and exoskeletons. Her research aims to enhance mobility for individuals with disabilities through neural interfaces and adaptive control.
Research Focus: Her work spans rehabilitation robotics, neural-machine interfaces, and human-robot interactions, with applications in prosthetic limbs and mobility assistance devices. She co-directs the NIDILRR-funded Rehabilitation Engineering Research Center (ASSET).
