Dr. Helen He is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics at Durham University. She earned her PhD in 2011 from the University of California, Berkeley, under Professor Ramamoorthy Ramesh, and worked as an ALS postdoctoral fellow at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory before joining Durham as a lecturer in 2014.
- PhD in Physics, University of California, Berkeley (2011)
Her research focuses on multiferroic materials, ferroelectricity, and strain-driven property manipulation in oxide thin films. She investigates domain wall dynamics, heterostructure interfaces, and nanoscale phenomena using advanced techniques like electron microscopy and x-ray spectroscopy.
Recent publications highlight her work on cation-stoichiometric engineering, electric-field-controlled proton evolution, and strain-induced ferroelectricity in materials such as LaCoO3, BiFeO3, and SrRuO3. Key themes include phase transitions, magneto-structural coupling, and interface-driven functionalities.
