معرفی
Dr Helen E Berry is a Lecturer in Cardiovascular Regenerative Therapies & Devices and University Academic Fellow at the School of Biomedical Sciences, University of Leeds, within the Faculty of Biological Sciences. She holds dual affiliations with:
- Multidisciplinary Cardiovascular Research Centre (MCRC)
- Tissue Engineering research group
Her academic qualifications include:
- PhD in Microbiology, University of Leeds (2000)
- BSc (Hons) Microbiology, University of Leeds
Dr Berry's research focuses on elucidating immunomodulation mechanisms and tissue regeneration processes in acellular scaffolds for cardiovascular repair. She investigates bioprocessing and sterilisation methods to bridge laboratory discoveries with clinical applications, leveraging 8 years of industry experience at Tissue Regenix Ltd where she led R&D for the first regulatory-approved decellularised product. Her work integrates macrophage biology with scaffold-tissue interface signaling to optimize regenerative outcomes.
She actively supervises postgraduate researchers and currently leads projects including "Towards Innovation of Stented Pericardial Aortic Valves for Transcatheter Implantation", emphasizing translational pathways from bench to bedside.
