Heleen C. de Coninck

Heleen C. de Coninck is a Full Professor of Socio-Technical Innovation and Climate Change at Eindhoven University of Technology since 2020, and a Professor in Climate Change and System Transitions at the Radboud Institute for Biological and Environmental Sciences, Faculty of Science, Radboud University Nijmegen since October 2012. Her academic appointments include positions in the Department of Technology, Innovation & Society within the School of Industrial Engineering and Innovation Sciences at TU/e, and the EIRES Research group.

Her research focuses on the role of innovation and technology in international climate negotiations, policy for making energy-intensive industry climate-neutral, and the viability and societal dynamics of new technologies for 1.5°C-mitigation pathways. Her work spans multiple disciplines including climate science, energy policy, industrial decarbonization, and socio-technical transitions.

Analysis of her recent publications shows a strong emphasis on carbon capture technologies, climate mitigation strategies, and system transitions toward sustainability.
