Helanius J. Wilkins is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Theatre & Dance at the University of Colorado Boulder. He holds an MFA in Dance from George Washington University, a BS in Dance from SUNY Brockport, and studied Film & Video Production at Rochester Institute of Technology. A renowned choreographer and performance artist, Wilkins has created over 60 works, including critically-acclaimed musicals like *Passing Strange* (2010) and *POP!* (2011). He founded EDGEWORKS Dance Theater (2001–2014), DC’s first all-male contemporary dance company of predominantly African-American men.

His current project *The Conversation Series* (2022–present) explores belonging through dance and community engagement across the U.S., resulting in choreographies, documentaries, and educational toolkits. He also develops the *FRAMEWORK* contemporary technique emphasizing architectural concepts and bodily communication.
