Heiko Ratter

Heiko Ratter is a Professor in the Department of Energy systems and turbomachinery at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, Ravensburg-Weingarten University of Applied Sciences (RWU), a position he has held since 2024.

His academic and professional journey includes:

• Mechanical engineering studies (2002-2008) at the University of Karlsruhe (TH) with a focus on energy and environmental technology and fluid machinery.
• Doctoral research (2008-2013) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) in the Department of Fluid Machinery, culminating in a doctorate.
• Leadership roles at KIT (2013-2015) as Deputy Institute Director and Team Leader for Applied Flow Calculation, and at ANDRITZ Hydro (2015-2024) in hydrodynamics and large hydro systems.
