Dr. Heiko Jürgen Rachinger is an Associate Professor at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) in the Department of Applied Economics. He has held academic positions at the University of Vienna, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, and has conducted research at institutions including Academia Sinica (Taipei) and the London School of Economics.

His research focuses on theoretical and time series econometrics, meta-analysis, and statistical methods, with applications in economics and tourism. He has authored publications in journals such as Scandinavian Journal of Statistics, Statistica Sinica, and Journal of Business & Economic Statistics, and participates in national research projects funded by Spain's Ministry of Science and Innovation.
At UIB, he teaches courses including 'Statistical Learning and Decision-Making' (Master's in Big Data Analysis) and 'Macroeconometrics' (Business Administration Degree). He is a member of the research group Econometría y Ciencia de Datos (ECD).
