Heiko Etzold

Dr. Heiko Etzold is a Researcher in the Department of Mathematics Didactics at the University of Potsdam since 2022. Prior roles include Study Program Coordinator (2019–2022) and Scientific Employee at the same institution (2014–2019) and Martin-Luther-Universität Halle-Wittenberg (2012–2014). He also served as a Mathematics and Physics Teacher at the Montessori-Schulzentrum Leipzig (2012–2014).

His research focuses on concept formation in mathematics education, digital tool development (e.g., Klötzchen-App), and activity theory applications in didactic design. He has contributed to Stoffdidaktik (subject didactics) frameworks and historical analyses of doubles discontinuity in university mathematics education.
