Heike Wachter

Heike Wachter is a researcher at the Professorship for Computer Science Education at Technische Universität München (TUM). Her work focuses on debugging processes in computer science education, teacher diagnostics and interventions, and advancing AI/ML & Data Literacy for educators. She is actively involved in projects like TRR419 SHARP and AI training initiative, which emphasize digital education and computational thinking.

Her recent publications analyze how teachers diagnose and address learner challenges in debugging, using empirical methods like video vignettes. She also participates in initiatives to revise computer science educational standards and promote quantum informatics in schools.

As part of TUM’s academic team, Wachter collaborates with colleagues such as Luisa Gebhardt, Franz Jetzinger, and Jacob Landolt, while supporting the development of applied computer science curricula and teacher training programs.
