Heike Scharm is an Associate Professor of Spanish Literature and Culture at the University of South Florida's Department of World Languages. Her research focuses on ecocriticism, globalization, science fiction, and post-national approaches to European and Latin American literatures. She has authored *El tiempo y el ser en Javier Marías* (2013) and edited *Postnational Perspectives on Contemporary Hispanic Literature* (2017). Current projects include a manuscript on transcorporeality and the Anthropocene in Spanish eco-fiction.
Her scholarship bridges philosophy, environmental studies, and literary analysis, exploring themes like climate change, decolonial thought, and narrative temporality. She has published widely on Javier Marías, post-2008 Spanish literature, and cross-cultural dialogues between Iberian and Latin American texts.
