Heidy B. Frias Ferreira

Dr. Heidy B. Frias Ferreira is an Clinical Assistant Professor in the Humanities in Medicine department at the Texas A&M College of Medicine. She holds an MD from Universidad Central del Este (UCE) in San Pedro de Macorís, Dominican Republic, and trained as a General and Family Physician. Her work focuses on medical education, particularly in the Practice of Medicine courses and OSCE evaluations through the Clinical Learning Resource Center. As director of the Medical Spanish program, she enhances cultural competency in healthcare, and advises the Latino Medical Student Association.

Her professional interests extend into integrating arts into medicine, creating visual art contributions for departmental initiatives and the Synapse newsletter. She collaborates extensively with faculty and students to improve clinical training and cross-cultural communication in medical practice.
