Heidi Nobles is an Associate Professor and Director of Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC) at the University of Virginia, with a PhD in Rhetoric and Composition from Texas Christian University (2018). Her research bridges editorial theory/praxis, digital humanities, and pedagogy, focusing on how writing shapes culture and how editing informs both teaching and scholarship.

- Research Interests: Editorial theory, WAC, digital humanities, writing pedagogy, history of rhetoric, and professional/public writing.
Her publications highlight interdisciplinary collaborations, particularly in embedding writing in STEM and nursing curricula. Recent work includes the 2025 forthcoming piece on WAC in BSN programs and 2020's Rhetorical Decipherment (Journal for the History of Rhetoric). She integrates developmental editing experience into her scholarship, emphasizing textual multiplicity and rhetorical action.
Heidi teaches composition, professional writing, and editing at both public and private institutions, advocating for evidence-based writing pedagogy. As WAC Director, she leads initiatives to enhance disciplinary writing practices and promotes public engagement through community education and social justice volunteering.
