Heidi Höglund is a Senior University Lecturer in Swedish (L1) and Literature Education at the Faculty of Education and Welfare Studies, Åbo Akademi University. She holds a Title of Docent in Literary Education (equivalent to Associate Professor). Her research focuses on arts-based literature teaching, poetry pedagogy, and performative engagements with picturebooks in secondary education. She leads two major research projects: Poetry! Performative Perspectives on Poetry Education (2020–2024) and Complex Picturebooks in Secondary Literary Education (2020–2025), and coordinates the Nordic Research Network on Literature Education and the international Special Interest Group on Literature Education Research.

Research Interests: Heidi’s work emphasizes post-theoretical and post-qualitative inquiry, exploring how literature education can foster ethical responsibility and democratic citizenship. She investigates multimodal literacy, performative classroom practices, and the role of uncertainty in pedagogical processes. Her recent studies include videomaking as a tool for poetry interpretation and the use of public art installations in poetry education.
