Hegyi Péter is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Structural Engineering, Faculty of Civil Engineering, Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME). He teaches courses including Steel Buildings (BMEEOHSA-A1) and Structures 2 (BMEEOHSMT-1), with consultation hours on Fridays 13:00-14:00 and Mondays 10:00-12:00.
His research focuses on structural engineering with emphasis on:

- Cold-formed steel elements
- Stability analysis under compression and bending
- Ultra-lightweight concrete applications
- Bridge engineering, particularly cable-stayed railway bridges

His work spans from fundamental material studies (e.g., polystyrene aggregate concrete) to complex structural systems like the ELI-ALPS Research Centre and railway cable-stayed bridges.
