Dr. Heather McGrane Minton is an Associate Professor at St. John Fisher College with expertise in maternal and child health epidemiology. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry and a B.S. from St. John Fisher College. Certified as an Apple Teacher.
Research specializes in pregnancy health, childhood nutrition, and epidemiological patterns in maternal-child populations. Current projects investigate genetic taste markers influencing childhood diets, nutritional interventions for pregnant women/mothers, and clinical trials for managing pregnancy weight gain.
Teaching includes evidence-based practice, research methods, epidemiology, biostatistics, population health, and developmental psychology. Additional roles include serving as a Rochester Area Parenting Program trainer and Master Trainer for AHA's TeamSTEPPS program. Actively mentors public health students and contributes as a statistical consultant for research grants.
