Heather Folz

Heather Folz is an Associate Professor of Clinical & Administrative Sciences at the School of Pharmacy, Notre Dame of Maryland University (NDMU). She holds clinical specialist roles in ambulatory care and practices at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and MedStar Franklin Square Family Health Center. Dr. Folz completed a PharmD from Campbell University, followed by PGY-1 and PGY-2 pharmacy residencies in community pharmacy and ambulatory care. Her research focuses on student wellness, diabetes management, and innovations in teaching, earning grants like the NACDS 2022 Innovation Grant with High Point University. She chairs the SOP Curriculum Committee and contributes to university-wide committees like UCAP.

Education: PharmD, Campbell University College of Pharmacy & Health Sciences (Buies Creek, NC). Postgraduate training includes PGY-1 at Kroger/Union University (Jackson, TN) and PGY-2 at Butler University (Indianapolis, IN) with an emphasis on academia and disease prevention.

Research interests emphasize student wellness initiatives, diabetes management strategies, and pedagogical innovations. Her 2021 studies explored pharmacy school wellness programs and mentorship satisfaction. Recent work incorporates continuous glucose monitoring to enhance empathy and clinical practice readiness, supported by the 2022 NACDS grant.
