Heather Dwyer Sadlier is an Associate Professor in the School of Education at the University of New England, where she serves as a Diversity Educator and contributes to the Office of Multicultural Affairs and Diversity. She is instrumental in developing the university's Diversity Leadership Certificate program and teaches core courses addressing systemic educational challenges.
Dr. Sadlier earned her Ed.D. in Educational Leadership in 2005. Prior to her doctoral studies, she gained extensive K-12 experience as a classroom teacher, literacy specialist, and gifted and talented program coordinator.
Her research and teaching emphasize dismantling inequities through critical examination of social dynamics in education. Key focus areas include:

- Social Justice Pedagogy
- Literacy Development for Marginalized Learners
- Implicit Bias Mechanisms
- Socioeconomic Class Analysis
Dr. Sadlier co-created UNE's Diversity Leadership Certificate program and teaches its foundational workshops: Implicit Bias & Stereotypes and Socioeconomic Class-Classism. Beyond academia, she co-authored four regional hiking guides illustrated with her photography and actively participates in sea kayaking, tennis, and volleyball, reflecting her commitment to experiential learning and community engagement.
