Heather Drastal is a Lecturer in the Theatre Department at Long Island University. She serves as general manager for LIU Post Theatre Company and has extensive experience in educational theatre, stage management, and civic engagement. Drastal holds a BA in Education, BS in Theatre (with Honors) from C.W. Post Long Island University, and an MA in Educational Theatre from New York University.

Her research interests focus on Shakespeare pedagogy, theatrical production management, and civic engagement through theatre. She has developed touring performances and workshops, presented at Stage The Change and NYSTEA, and guest lectured at Brooklyn College and LIU Post.
Drastal has managed international productions like Re-Membering Antigone (winner of five national awards at the 2012 Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival) and Third Child: Orestes Revisited (NYC, Italy, and Czech Republic festivals). She mentors high-school theatre students through the NYCDOE and teaches courses in Production Management, Stage Management, and Theatre and Civic Engagement at both undergraduate and graduate (MFA Theatre) levels.
