Heather Campbell-Speltz is an Associate Professor of Hispanic Studies at the University of Kentucky, serving as Director of Undergraduate Studies and Coordinator of Translation Studies. Her research focuses on 20th-century Peninsular theatre, feminist theatre, gender performance, and translation studies, with interdisciplinary links to social theory. She holds a PhD in Spanish Literature from the University of Kentucky and additional certifications in translation and Spanish studies. Currently on sabbatical through Spring 2025, her office is located in Patterson Office Tower 1161.

Recent work explores digital tools in language education and graphic narratives in modern Spain. She co-edited The Graphic Past and translated Inmaculada Alvear’s Paradise/Paraíso. Her teaching innovations include app-based language learning methodologies.
Professional activities include curriculum development for undergraduate programs and fostering translation studies initiatives. She collaborates with the ESTRENO Collection and Hispanic Issues Online journal.
