Heather Bain

Heather Bain is the Associate Head of the Centre for Rural Health Sciences at the University of Highlands and Islands (UHI), Inverness. She holds a Doctorate of Education (EdD) from the University of Stirling and has extensive experience in higher education, including roles as a lecturer, course leader, and programme leader. Her academic leadership spans both the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at UHI and external roles such as External Examiner and Visitor for the Nursing and Midwifery Council.

Teaching & Leadership: She has led numerous academic programs, including the North of Scotland Advanced Practice Academy, and chairs the Scottish Network of Community Nurse Educators.
