Dr. Haytham El-Messiry is an Associate Professor in the Department of Computer Science at Canadian University Dubai, where he also serves as Program Director for the MScAI program. He holds a PhD in Computer Vision from Ulm University, Germany. His academic leadership includes former roles as Dean of the College of Engineering and Technology, Program Coordinator, and Program Chair, during which he developed accredited Computer Science programs and led a joint initiative with the UAE Ministry of Telecommunication to bridge academic-industry gaps.
His research focuses on applying Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Computer Vision to solve real-world challenges across sectors including healthcare (biomedical applications, DNA profiling), government systems, and transportation. Dr. El-Messiry has supervised industry-funded projects in intelligent systems development.
