Prof. Dr. Hayrunnisa ÖZDEMİR is currently serving as the Head of the Department of Civil Law at Ankara Sosyal Bilimler Üniversitesi (ASBU) Faculty of Law. She has previously held academic positions at Erzincan University Faculty of Law where she completed her obligatory service period. Her academic career spans over a decade with significant contributions to civil law, consumer protection, and data privacy fields.
Dr. ÖZDEMİR completed her entire academic education at Ankara University Faculty of Law, earning her Bachelor's, Master's, and Doctorate degrees from this institution. Her doctoral research focused on 'The Protection of Personal Data in Electronic Communications.' She has also conducted research at prestigious Swiss universities including Basel and Fribourg, supported by governmental scholarships and TÜBİTAK funding.
Her research interests span multiple critical areas of contemporary legal scholarship. She has made significant contributions to Consumer Law, particularly in automotive sector liability and defective goods. Her expertise in Personal Data Protection extends to children's data privacy in social media environments and healthcare contexts. Her work on Electronic Communications Law addresses modern challenges in digital environments, while her research on Similarities between Ottoman and Turkish Law of Obligations provides historical perspective to contemporary legal frameworks.
