Dr. Hayder Zghair is an Assistant Professor of Industrial Engineering in the Department of Engineering and Physics at Southern Arkansas University (SAU), and Director of Industrial Engineering Development in the College of Science and Engineering. He previously held roles as Assistant Teaching Professor at Pennsylvania State University and Lecturer at Kettering University. Dr. Zghair earned BS and MS degrees in Industrial and Production Engineering from the University of Technology, followed by a second MS and PhD in Manufacturing Systems Engineering from Lawrence Technological University.

His research focuses on Flexible-Automated Manufacturing, Robotics, Sustainability Engineering, and Industry 4.0/5.0 technologies (AI, IoT, cloud computing). He actively publishes in engineering education and manufacturing systems, including works featured in ASEE and IEOM conferences. Dr. Zghair chairs university committees and serves as Affiliate Researcher at Penn State’s Institute of Energy and the Environment. He advises SAU’s SAE Baja and IEOM student chapters.
Teaching includes courses on Manufacturing Processes, Engineering Economics, and Advanced Manufacturing Systems, alongside lab instruction in robotics and materials.
