Hauke Busch

Prof. Hauke Busch serves as the Director of the Institute of Experimental Dermatology and Head of the Medical Systems Biology research group at the University of Lübeck. He contributes to the Lübeck-Sharjah Dual Degree Program as a member of the Scientific Mentorship Committee. His research focuses on applying systems biology approaches to autoimmune diseases, particularly investigating molecular mechanisms in pemphigus vulgaris, cancer biology, and immune-related disorders. He leads a multidisciplinary team exploring transcriptomic profiling, drug development, and translational oncology tools.

His work spans dermatology, oncology, and genetics, with notable contributions to understanding clonal evolution in lymphomas and the impact of diet on immunotherapeutic efficacy. Busch has pioneered 3D skin models to study autoimmune pathogenesis and developed digital tools for molecular tumor boards to enhance precision medicine decision-making. His research integrates computational biology, epigenetics, and clinical data to address complex diseases.
