معرفی
Hatice Osmanbeyoglu is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biomedical Informatics at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Computing and Information. Her research focuses on integrating computational methods with cancer biology to understand tumor microenvironments, immunosuppressive mechanisms, and therapeutic resistance. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and completed a postdoctoral fellowship at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
Education:
- PostDoc., Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center
- Ph.D., University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine
- MS., University of Pittsburgh-Bioengineering
- MS., Carnegie Mellon University-Electrical and Computer Engineering
- BS., Northeastern University, Computer Engineering
Her research interests include spatial transcriptomics, computational frameworks for transcriptional analysis, and translational oncology. Recent work has explored the role of Egfl6 in ovarian cancer immunosuppression, age-related tumor microenvironment changes in breast cancer, and the development of combinatorial therapies targeting cancer quiescence.
Her lab’s computational tools, such as STAN and SPaRTAN, bridge high-dimensional data analysis with biological insights. While no scientific awards are explicitly listed, her work has been published in top journals like Nature Communications and Cell. She maintains an active lab at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center and the Information Sciences Building.
