Hassan Humeida

Hassan Humeida serves as a Lecturer at Flensburg University of Applied Sciences within the School of Energy and Biotechnology, while maintaining significant research affiliations with GEOMAR Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel. His work spans marine ecology, sustainable ocean food systems, and public health nutrition, with active roles at Christian-Albrechts-University Kiel and UKSH Kiel health institutions since 2015.

His research focuses on marine conservation and sustainable development, particularly examining ocean pollution impacts, climate change consequences, and Sustainable Development Goals implementation (SDG 14 & 15). Current projects include developing educational literature for youth on ocean sustainability and conducting workshops on plastic waste reduction across Kiel-area schools.

Key contributions include field research on malaria-diabetes interactions in Central Sudan and clinical study coordination across German university hospitals. His work emphasizes practical applications for refugee communities and international sustainability initiatives.
