Hasan Fahrettin Keleştemir

Prof. Hasan Fahrettin Keleştemir is a distinguished Professor of Endocrinology at Yeditepe University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine. With a medical degree from Hacettepe University (1972-1979), he has built an impressive career spanning over four decades in endocrinology and metabolism.

His research interests focus on neuroendocrinology, pituitary disorders, adrenal diseases, and reproductive endocrinology. Prof. Keleştemir has made significant contributions to understanding the relationship between traumatic brain injury and pituitary dysfunction, as well as hormonal disorders related to sports medicine.

His recent publications demonstrate expertise in Cushing syndrome, neuroendocrine tumors, hirsutism, and the long-term consequences of traumatic brain injury on endocrine function. His work often bridges clinical practice with molecular understanding of endocrine disorders.

Prof. Keleştemir has served in numerous leadership roles including President of the Turkish Endocrinology and Metabolism Diseases Association (2006-2008), Vice President (2002-2004), and as a board member of the European Society of Endocrinology (2005-2009). His administrative experience includes serving as Department Chair at Erciyes University and Rector in 2008.
