Harvey L. Reiter serves as Professorial Lecturer in Law at The George Washington University while maintaining an active practice as Senior Counsel at Stinson LLP in Washington, D.C. His legal expertise centers on energy and telecommunications regulation, appellate review of administrative agency decisions, and he has argued over twenty cases across federal circuit courts of appeal.
His academic background includes a BA from Michigan State University and JD from Boston University. Prior to private practice beginning in 1984, he served as Special Assistant to the Deputy General Counsel for Litigation at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission and has taught energy regulation at Vermont Law School and Michigan State's Institute of Public Utilities.
Mr. Reiter's scholarly contributions focus on regulatory frameworks in utility sectors, evidenced by his role as Editor-in-Chief of the Energy Law Journal since 2019. His research interests encompass:
