Harshil Kamdar serves as a Visiting Scholar at Harvard University's Salata Institute for Climate and Sustainability and holds the position of Lead Senior Scientist at Insight M. He earned his PhD and Master's degrees from Harvard University in 2021 and previously co-chaired ComSciCon's leadership team, demonstrating cross-sector scientific leadership.
His educational foundation spans astronomy, physics, earth science, and computational science, enabling interdisciplinary climate research. Current work focuses on methane super-emitter detection through his project Climate Catalysts: Methane Super-Emitter Detection & Mitigation by Fusing Aerial & Satellite Data, which develops multi-scale emission datasets to evaluate detection technologies.
Dr. Kamdar actively collaborates with academic, industry, and regulatory experts while organizing seminar series to advance super-emitter mitigation strategies. His research directly supports the Salata Institute's mission of driving real-world climate action through high-risk/high-reward interdisciplinary projects and expanding Harvard's climate research engagement.
