Harry J. Paarsch is a Professor of Business Analytics (Economics) in the Department of Economics at the University of Central Florida's College of Business. His research focuses on econometric methods, auction theory, computational economics, and forestry economics. He developed open-source computational tools for auction modeling and holds patents in additive manufacturing laser control systems.
Current work examines bidding behavior in informationally restricted auctions, intervention analysis of consumer credit during pandemics, and stochastic optimization for large-scale resource management. Earlier career includes roles at Amazon's Economics Team and Machine Learning Seller-Services Platform, applying econometric methods to e-commerce.
Educational background includes PhD in Economics and MS in Statistics from Stanford University. He has held academic appointments internationally and published multiple books on structural econometrics of auctions through MIT Press.
