معرفی
Harry F. Noller is a Professor in the Center for the Molecular Biology of RNA at the University of California, Santa Cruz. He has been a faculty member since 1968 and was elected to the National Academy of Sciences in 1992.
- Alma maters: University of California, Berkeley (B.S.), University of Oregon (Ph.D.)
Noller's research focuses on the structure and function of the ribosome, a central component of cellular protein synthesis. His work includes elucidating the ribosome's role as a ribozyme and pioneering crystal structures of ribosomes at molecular resolution.
His recent articles highlight advancements in ribosome crystallography, RNA-protein interactions, and translational machinery, with a focus on high-resolution structural analysis and catalytic mechanisms.
- Scientific awards: Paul Ehrlich and Ludwig Darmstaedter Prize (2006), Gairdner Foundation International Award (2007), Breakthrough Prize (2016)
Noller leads the Center for the Molecular Biology of RNA at UCSC, driving collaborative research on ribosome biology and its implications for molecular medicine and evolutionary biology.
