Harold Nelson, Ph.D., is an Instructor in the Department of Computer Science at Saint Martin's University, affiliated with the Hal and Inge Marcus School of Engineering. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of California, San Diego, an M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Kentucky, and a B.S. in Mathematics from the University of Notre Dame. His career includes extensive work as a senior data analyst in the Governor's Office of Financial Management (OFM) in Olympia, where he led a team using SAS for data analysis.
Dr. Nelson’s research interests span data analysis, the R programming language, artificial intelligence, Python, and foundational mathematics and economics.
