Haomiao Jin

Dr. Haomiao Jin is a Lecturer in Health Data Sciences at the University of Surrey, affiliated with the School of Health Sciences and part of the Digital Health Expert Group and Long-term Conditions and Ageing Expert Group. He holds a PhD in Industrial and Systems Engineering and MS degrees in Operations Research and Industrial Engineering from the University of Southern California and Zhejiang University. His research focuses on statistical modeling of health data, particularly in cognitive health, chronic disease care, and mental health. He develops computational methods for improving survey methodologies and uses machine learning to analyze longitudinal cohort data.

Dr. Jin’s work is funded by organizations such as the National Institute for Health and Care Research (NIHR) and the National Institutes of Health (NIH). His research themes include epidemiological modeling of dementia prevalence, survey methodology innovation, and daily-life data analysis for chronic disease management. He has published extensively in journals like Journal of Epidemiology and Community Health and Journal of Biomedical Informatics.
