Hanspeter Schaub is a Distinguished Professor and Department Chair of Aerospace Engineering Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder, affiliated with the College of Engineering and Applied Science. He holds the Schaden Leadership Chair and the Glenn Murphy Endowed Chair. His academic career includes roles at Virginia Tech and Texas A&M University.
Education: PhD (1998), M.S. (1994), and B.S. (1992) in Aerospace Engineering from Texas A&M University. He also completed a Matura Typus C in Switzerland.
Research focuses on orbital mechanics, attitude dynamics, Coulomb spacecraft actuation, space debris removal, and autonomous systems. Notable projects include the Basilisk simulation framework and the Autonomous Vehicle Systems (AVS) Lab.
