معرفی
Hans Zwart is a Professor in Physical Systems and Control and leads the Chair of Mathematics of Systems Theory within the Department of Applied Mathematics at the University of Twente, part of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mathematics and Computer Science (EEMCS). He also holds a part-time professorship at Eindhoven University of Technology in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, contributing one day per week.
His research focuses on the analysis and control of systems governed by partial differential equations and time-delay differential equations, particularly linear infinite-dimensional systems. He employs advanced mathematical tools from functional analysis and Hamiltonian dynamics, with primary applications in the design and analysis of controllers for flexible structures. His work is supported by long-term collaborations with research groups in Besançon, Lyon, Wuppertal, and Eindhoven.
Hans Zwart is the co-author of two foundational textbooks in his field: An Introduction to Infinite-Dimensional Linear Systems Theory (with R. Curtain) and Linear Port-Hamiltonian Systems on Infinite-Dimensional Spaces (with B. Jacob), the former having been updated in 2020. These publications have significantly influenced the development of modern systems theory.
He is affiliated with the Mathematical Systems Theory (EEMCS-AM-MAST) group and contributes to the Digital Society Institute. At the University of Twente, he is actively involved in research and education, supervising students and advancing theoretical and applied aspects of control systems. His secondary role at Eindhoven University of Technology involves research and student supervision, further extending his academic impact.
