معرفی
Hans Martin Dober is an Associate Professor (Apl. Prof. Dr.) at the University of Tübingen's Faculty of Protestant Theology. He retired from pastoral duties in September 2022 after serving as a pastor for the Evangelical Church in Württemberg (2003-2022) but continues his academic work. His research bridges Practical Theology—focusing on Homiletics, Liturgics, and Pastoral Care—and Jewish Religious Philosophy, with expertise in thinkers like Hermann Cohen, Franz Rosenzweig, and Emmanuel Lévinas.
Education:
- 1978-1985: Studied Protestant Theology and Philosophy at universities in Göttingen, Tübingen, Jerusalem, and Heidelberg.
- 1989: Earned a PhD in Philosophy from the University of Tübingen with a dissertation on Franz Rosenzweig.
- 2001: Completed Habilitation in Practical Theology at Tübingen with a thesis on Walter Benjamin.
Research Interests: Dober's work explores the intersection of theology, philosophy, and culture. He examines homiletics through historical figures (Luther, Schleiermacher, Barth), Jewish-Christian dialogue, and the role of art/media in religious practice. His recent publications analyze concepts of evil, redemption, and modernity through philosophical-theological lenses.
Publications: Dober's extensive output includes monographs on homiletics, liturgy, and Jewish philosophy. Recent articles (2021-2025) focus on Rosenzweig, Cohen, evil, and aesthetics, reflecting sustained engagement with modern theology, interfaith dialogue, and cultural hermeneutics.
