Hans Geyer

Hans Geyer is a Professor at the Institute of Biochemistry, German Sport University Cologne. He leads research within the Centre for Preventive Doping Research (ZePräDo), focusing on doping control and pharmaceutical science. His work integrates pharmacology, toxicology, and analytical chemistry to address challenges in sports drug testing.

Research interests include doping detection methodologies, metabolite analysis, drug screening, and forensic applications in sports medicine. He co-edits the series Recent Advances in Doping Analysis, contributing to global anti-doping knowledge dissemination.

With over 300 publications, his recent work highlights innovations in LC-HRMS/MS for GH analog detection and investigations into black market doping products. He collaborates internationally, addressing contamination scenarios in food systems and forensic case studies involving prohibited substances.

As a core member of the Physiological Adaptation Processes research initiative (2018–present), he explores medication-induced adaptations in athletes. His editorial activities span 10 years, maintaining rigorous peer-review standards for anti-doping analysis literature.
