Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageingمعرفی
Dr. Hans-Georg Sprenger is a Max Planck Research Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing and a Principal Investigator at CECAD (Cluster of Excellence in Aging Research) at the University of Cologne. His work focuses on molecular mechanisms linking mitochondrial function, metabolic homeostasis, and aging-related diseases.
- Education: PhD in Biological Sciences (University of Cologne, 2014–2018)
- Postdoctoral Training: Harvard Medical School, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, MIT, Whitehead Institute
Research Interests:
Dr. Sprenger investigates how mitochondrial metabolism adapts to environmental stressors like exercise, diet, and aging. His group explores small molecules that regulate mitochondrial function and their therapeutic potential for age-related metabolic disorders.
Scientific Awards:
- Travel Award, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (2024)
- Postdoctoral Fellowship, Hope Funds for Cancer Research (2021)
- DFG Postdoctoral Fellowship (2020)
- FEBS Journal Best Poster Award (2019)
- PhD and Fast-Track Fellowships (2013–2014)
Advising: Mentoring doctoral students including Fabian Bäzner, Mahshid Mohsenzadeh Hedesh, Saba Nateghi, and Margareta Sacer through the IMPRS program.
