Hanno Ulmer

Hanno Ulmer serves as head of the Institute for Medical Statistics and Informatics at the Medical University of Innsbruck, a position he has held since 2009. He holds a doctorate in economics and social sciences and a habilitation in biostatistics.

His research expertise spans Epidemiology, Medical Statistics, and Preventive Medicine, with specific focus on identifying risk factors for cardiovascular diseases and cancer, alongside methodological contributions to clinical trial design and statistical analysis. This work positions him at the intersection of population health research and biostatistical innovation.

Ulmer maintains active professional engagement through longstanding service as an independent statistical expert for the institutional research ethics committee and foundational leadership in the Austrian Society for Epidemiology, which he chaired as founding president from 2014 to 2016.
