Prof. Hannes Weigt is a Professor of Energy Economics at the University of Basel's Faculty of Economics. He leads the Research Center for Sustainable Energy and Water Management (FoNEW) and previously headed Work Package 3 of SCCER CREST (2015–2020). His research focuses on energy market design, renewable energy policies, climate policy, and competition regulation. He contributes to the Research Network Sustainable Future, addressing decarbonization strategies and energy system transitions.
