Dr. Hanneke Torij is a Professor in Midwifery and Childbirth Care at the Healthcare Innovation Knowledge Center of Rotterdam University of Applied Sciences. She pioneered the Rotterdam Midwifery Academy (VAR), a collaboration with Erasmus MC, establishing its Academic Workplace in 2011. Her work focuses on improving maternity care for vulnerable populations through regional consortia, Mama's Garden community initiatives, and student engagement via the Student Research Council.
